Picture by Jacques BeaulieuIshibei-koji 石塀小路, the "most beautiful lane" according to Inside Kyoto is a bit hard to find. It turns off of Nene-no-Michi Lane in Higashiyama. In this pedestrian-only narrow stone-paved alley you discover beautifully maintained traditional guesthouses, restaurants and private homes with honey coloured wooden walls.
